StarTimes Fufa Big League side Maroons FC overcame their compatriots Ndejje University with a 2-0 home at the Prisons Stadium in Luzira during a Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 encounter on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

Fred Amaku gave Maroons the lead after 24 minutes through a kick from the penalty mark before midfielder Norman Odipio added the second in the 61st minute with a long range shot.

the victory means that Maroons is the only club in the StarTimes FUFA Big League remaining in this knock out competition.

They thus qualified to the quarter finals to join BUL, current cup holders Vipers, Kitara regional side Booma, Eastern region outfit Mbale Heroes, Mbarara City and Wakiso Giants.

Meanwhile, SC Villa who knocked out Express FC will visit Onduparaka at the AbaBet Green Light Stadium in Arua city on 3rd April 2022 in the remaining Round of 16 encounter.

The winner of the Uganda Cup earns a ticket to represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup.
