She Cranes surge to dominant victory over Northern Ireland in Celtic Cup

Under the bright lights of Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Uganda’s She Cranes continued their positive start to the Celtic Cup, securing a second consecutive triumph.

The Ugandan side opened the match with a blistering pace, forging an eight‑goal cushion (19‑11) by the end of the first quarter.

Bolstered by sharper shooting and a faster tempo, the lead stretched to 16 goals (38‑22) at halftime.

Returning to the court, the Cranes kept the pressure on, widening the gap to 23 goals (55‑32) after three quarters.

They finished the game with a commanding 26‑goal margin, 72‑46.

Captain Mary Nuba credited the victory to the perfect start that set a brilliant rhythm throughout.

“We had a good start. We wanted to start strong and finish strong and I think that is what we did. I am happy that we are growing in every game,” she stated.

“We still have three games and we hope to keep building going into the next game.

We are improving. We need to fix a little things so that we can improve all departments,” she added.

Uganda now prepare for a tough test against tournament hosts Scotland on Friday.
