The 3rd edition of the Annual End of Year Primary Schools Sports Gala is set to take place on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, at the Ntenjeru Ssaza Grounds in Kayunga.

This year’s gala promises to be bigger and better, with the introduction of Netball for Girls (U12 and U14) in addition to the already popular football boys (U12 and U14) categories.

“The End of Year Primary Schools Sports Gala is a visionary platform designed to identify, nurture, and elevate Uganda’s young talents,” said Mbuga Swaibu, Organizing Committee Chairman.

“The Gala goes beyond competition. It’s a mission-driven initiative focused on celebrating learners’ achievements in a sportive and spirited community environment.

It provides a platform to reinforce key academic and life skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience through the shared experience.”

The gala has seen a significant increase in participation since its inception in 2023, with top primary schools from across Uganda set to converge in Kayunga.

Some of the participating schools include Janan Primary School Bombo, St Mark Junior School Kayunga, Wakiso District powerhouse Medinah Islamic Junior School, and Rays of Grace Junior School, among others.

St Mark Schools Kayunga has partnered with Kanjuki Junior School for team registration, medals, trophies, lunch, and everything for the next generation to enjoy.

The event promises to be an exciting celebration of young talent, sportsmanship, and community spirit.

Recent winners of the gala include Rays of Grace Junior School (2024 U12 Boys Football) and Kanjuki Junior School (2024 U14 Boys Football, 2023 U12 Boys Football, and 2023 U14 Boys Football).
