AFCON U-20 Qualifiers: Uganda Hippos Beat Kenya to Qualify for Final Tournament
Uganda Hippos have confirmed presence at the African pinnacle U-20 final tournament set for February to March 2021. Uganda Hippos have confirmed presence at the African pinnacle U-20 final tournament set for February to March 2021.

This comes after Uganda’s 3-1 semifinal win over neighbors Kenya in the ongoing CECAFA zonal U-20 AFCON Qualifiers in Tanzania.

By half time, the Hippos through Bul’s defender Kenneth Ssemakula in the 22nd minute, Ivan Bogere 25th were comfortably leading Kenya by 2-0.

In the 63rd minute of the game, Bogere extended Uganda’s to 3-0 before Enoch Wanyama pulled one back ten minutes to the end of the game.

Musa Ramathan bounced back from red card suspension to start in the Hippos’ defence
He teamed up with skipper Gavin Kizito Mugweri, Azizi Kayondo in the right full back and Kenneth Semakula.

Uganda’s semi final tie win has confirmed her qualifications to the U-20 AFCON final set for February to March, 2020 in Mauritania.

Uganda awaits to face winner between host Tanzania and South Sudan in the second semifinal later on today.

Africa’s semifinalists in Mauritania will represent the continent at the 2021 FIFA U-20 world cup finals scheduled for June to July in Indonesia
