U20 AFCON: Uganda Hippos, Tunisia face off in the semi-final

After the climax of the epic quarterfinal ties, Uganda Hippos will play Tunisia in the semi final of the ongoing U-20 AFCON championship in Mauritania.

The confirmation of the fixture came after Tunisia eliminated Morocco 4-1 on penalties following a goalless draw in normal time on Friday evening.
The debutant Uganda Hippos will play Tunisian in the semi final stage of the tournament as the under-dogs.

According to the tournament’s archives, Tunisia have been at the semi-finals the final twice in 1977 and 1985.
The semi-final tie between Uganda and Tunisia will be played on Monday, 1st March 2021 at the stadium Olympique de Nouakchot.
Uganda eliminated Burkina Faso 5-3 on penalties after a goalless draw in normal time on Thursday, 25th February 2021 to reach her first ever semifinal.

Elsewhere, Ghana and Gambia will lock horns in the second semifinal tie of the tournament. Ghana beat host Cameroon while Gambia outclassed Central Africa Republic 3-0.
The tournament final will be played on Saturday 6th March.
