Reigning champions, Vipers SC has acquired the services of South Sudanese right back Joseph Dhata after signing a four year employment contract.

The youthful right full back agreed terms with the Kitende based team after receiving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA).

He becomes the latest acquisition at St. Mary’s Stadium after the arrival of David Bagoole, Ibrahim Orit, Disan Galiwango and Jamil Kaliisa as the Kajoba continues to organise his side ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Dhata is not new in Uganda football having captained Buddo Secondary School in 2019 and also helped them win the National Post Primary Championship and East Africa Secondary Schools Football Tournament in 2018.

The South Sudanese international who has been training with Vipers since January is set to add several attributes to the Venoms such as good crosses, acceleration, dribbling, tackling, stamina and excellent game.

I am very happy about this day as it has offered me a new step forward,” Dhata told Vipers official website before adding.

“The important thing is to grab this chance and use it wisely to build my career and also help my team to win games and silverware.” He reaffirmed.

Dhata’s arrival at Kitende reunites him with his childhood friends Ahmed Amayo and Rashid Toha.

“I am home. All my friends are here. So everything is well. However, I know what is expected of me. The competition for numbers at Vipers is what motivates me more,” the South Sudanese international added

Dhata will tastle with Paul Willa at the right back position giving coach Fred Kajoba more options in the defence department.
