Uganda Motor Club (UMC) Fortportal tourism city rally has today Wednesday, the 15th November 2023 has been launched.

The launch was held at Figtree Restaurant in Kansanga this afternoon.

The Fortportal rally is Federation of Motorsport in Uganda (FMU) calendar closing event.

It will run from Friday 24th to 26th of November in Fortportal, a City in Kabalore district.

While addressing the media, the Clerk of Course (COC) Joshua Mayanja confirmed that this time Amabeere Ganyinamwiru and Karim sections were eliminated for this round.

Six stages including Mukwano Karmali (12.2 KM), Mpanga which is the longest stage covering 15.49km, Harugongo (13km), Kyakaigo (8km).

All stages shall be repeated and will make a total distance of 238KM and 150KM competitive .

This is the seventh (7th) and last round of the National Rally Championship (NRC). However, it comes at a time when the championship is already declared done.

Yasin Nasser co-driven by Ali Katumba are the 2023 NRC champions following their triumph finish at the 5th round event held in Masaka – Kyotera.

By registration, a total of 12 drivers have confirmed to race in this event. More entries are expected before the closure of registration on Saturday, the 18th this month.

By table standings, Yasin Nasser leads with 498 points 178 points difference from the second placed Ronald Ssebuguzi on 320.
