Aziz Damani wrapped their third successive National Women’s T20 title last weekend and they will be playing against themselves this weekend as they aim to finish unbeaten.

They will be taking on the youthful Olila Cricket Club side at Lugogo Cricket Oval. Despite playing most of the season without some of their key players, Coach Yusuf Nanga has managed to put together a Championship winning side.

Damani has been a class part the whole season and it’s no surprise they have managed to defend their crown.

The fixture of interest will be the match between Wanderers and Soroti Challengers as both sides are stuck on 10 points but Wanderers is only ahead due to a better net run rate.

The stakes are high for whoever finishes second as the position comes with a cash prize.

Wanderers were solid in the beginning but fell along the way while Soroti Challengers have been gathering momentum since their opening day loss to Aziz Damani.

Both sides have a lot of experience in their sides with a good blend of youth and both games are expected to be very close.

This is the final chance for players to also impress the coaches ahead of the upcoming Victoria Pearls tour to Namibia.

The day will end with the award ceremony for the 2022 National Women’s T20 League that will be held in Lugogo.

Weekend Matches: 09/04/2022

1. Wanderers v Soroti Challengers – Kyambogo 10am

2. Aziz Damani v Olila Cricket Club – Lugogo.
