Uganda Cranes came from a goal down to settle for a draw with hosts Cameroon in the opening game of the Pre-Chan mini tournament.

Skipper Banga Bienvenue sent hosts Cameroon in the lead when he headed home from a Felix Oukine ball delivered from a free kick in the 13th minute of play.

Later in the 77th minute, Milton Karisa leveled matters for the Cranes from a counterattack with a good combination between him and Joachim Ojera after the hosts had laid siege in the Cranes half.

Ben Ocen was shown matching orders after a straight red card for an elbow in the 12th minute that left Uganda with numerical disadvantage.

However, Cameroon’s Basile Yamkam was also sent off in the 90th minute.

The tournament returns with a fixture between Zambia and Niger on Saturday 3rd January 2021, while Uganda Cranes will be in action against the Chipolopolo on Monday January 4th before facing Niger three days later.
