With just four days to the kick off of the 2023/24 UPL season newly promoted Mbarara City FC have been given a green light to host from Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.
A document signed the UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani Bampaire confirmed the development,
“The Secretariat is in receipt of a letter from FUFA indicating that Kakyeka has been approved to host the StarTimes Uganda Premier League matches for the 2023/24 season”
“Accordingly, Mbarara City home matches will now be hosted at Kakyeka Stadium.”
Earlier on Wasswa Bbosa’s men were to host from Bombo Barracks Military grounds since Kakyeka Stadium had not yet been approved.
Their first game of the upcoming season will be against newly promoted NEC FC on Friday 15th September at Kakyeka Stadium.
