IFS World Schools championship: St. Noa Girls, Amus College near quarter-final stage

Two of the three Uganda’s

representatives at the ongoing ISF World Schools football championship in Rabat, Morocco St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana and Amus College, Bukedea set eye to quarter-final stage.

The two sides head to their final group stage games with better chances to advance to the next level after accumulating four points in the two games following a draw and a win for each.

Amus College won their first encounter by a landslide score of 26-1 against Nepal before their goalless draw against Chile.

In their last group tie, they (Amus College) Uganda face France at  Mohammed VI Sports Complex – 11:15 AM (East African Time).

Whilst St Noa Girls School who surrendered a 1-0 lead in the last minute of the game to draw 1-1 against Morocco in the tournament’s official opener, won massively by 8-0 against Chile in the second encounter.

They face European side from England at Mohammed VI Sports Complex – 1:15 PM (East African Time)and a win or draw will cement a quarter-final slot for the Zana side.

Uganda’s third representative Kibuli S.S will play a ranking classification game after enduring two successive defeats (1-3 China 1) and 0-1 against Qatar.

The ISF World School Cup football tournament is organized by the International Schools Federation (ISF).

Despite this being the 14th edition, Uganda is featuring for the very first time ever.

1200 participants from 28 countries (29 boys’ teams and 18 girls’ teams) and 400 plus volunteers in the various dockets are taking part at the event.
