The five year dominance for London College in Nansana zone boys football has finally come to a check after a signature 3-1 defeat to new power house Greenlight Islamic School-Nansana in the final.

Before a huge crowd at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso City on Saturday 23rd 2024, Greenlight emerged champions in a one side dominated 3-1 win.

London College’s Sudais Kayiira connected to his own net just 45 seconds after kick off. Their was loose defending mechanism as Simon Okwir, Moris Okello and Moses Icuri magic proved tricky to stop.

In the 20th minute, Henry Junior Egesa announced himself into the epic final with a powerful header off Moris Okello’s boggy corner delivery.

The man himself, Moris Okello sealed the win nine minutes into the second half to make it 3-0 for Greenlight Islamic School-Nansana.

Akram Bin Mousa scored London College’s consolation in the final two added minutes to the final whistle.

The win for Greenlight dethroned London College and also put an end to a five year back to back run for Nansana giants, London College School.

Awards

Greenlight Islamic School-Nansana also dominated individual awards as the top scorer, MVP, best goalkeeper and coach came from them.

Moris Okello was the tournament’s top scorer with seven (7) goals.

The best goalkeeper of the tournament was Tessy Richard while Caston Ssembatya was the best coach.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) was the magical young star and a lethal winger Simon Okwir.

In the girls category, Alliance High School was crowned champions after their 7-0 massacre against St. George SS Kasengejje in the final.

Mary Katusiime (4), and Flavia Mirembe, Patricia Agwete, Doreen Kobusingye scored a goal each for Alliance.

Patricia Agwete was the MVP while Mary Katusiime emerged the top scorer of the tournament.
