Asubo-Gafford Ladies Women football Club have confirmed four signings to strengthen their squad in pursuit to gain promotion to super league through the forthcoming 2021 Women Elite league season.

The Kiteezi based side acquired three forwards and one midfielder to improve on their creativity and goal scoring chances.
Midfielder Madinah Nakaayi Yawe, a left footed player from Super League side Lady Doves joined the club on a two year contract.

Ada Abiine who once featured for Kyambogo University, a none league side, Aisha Namagembe from Lady Doves and Nakaweesa Violet from Excel Soccer Academy based in Gayaza are the three club’s new fronts.

Asubo failed to advance to Super League last season with a 4-2 spot kicks loss to debutants Tooro Queens following a goalless draw in the normal time of a playoff final held at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru in November 2020.

Despite the signings, it’s not yet known when the football governing body will give a green light to women football in Uganda following the early abortion of leagues last year due to the out break of COVID-19.
