Ater an official unveiling of the Union of Uganda Sports Federations and Associations (UUSFA) on Saturday, 12th December 2020 at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo, the interim committee has released a program that shows a series of it’s next engagements.

On the menu, UUSFA seeks to meet key stakeholders (authorities) in the country aimed at officially introducing themselves to the above colleagues (authorities), stating the main objectives of their Association and tabling the four critical issues of engagement as agreed upon which include revisiting of the stringent SOPs, funding to enable adherence to SOPs as sports resumes, tapping into other government programs, using sports to alleviate the danger of youth Idleness.

“Dear members, after liaison with the Interim UUSFA Excom, I wish to share here a list of activities that we are to undertake going forward:

 We Seek meetings with National Council of Sports (NCS), Minister Hamson Obua, First Lady who is the line cabinet minister of the sector and H.E. the President of Uganda.

These meetings are aimed at officially introducing ourselves to the above colleagues, stating the main objectives of our association and tabling the four critical issues of engagement as agreed upon which include revisiting of the stringent SOPs, funding to enable adherence to SOPs as sports resumes, tapping into other government programs, using sports to alleviate the danger of youth Idleness.

As the above are being perused, we shall also peruse the following concurrently. Letters to meet and lobby for Development financing and/or other resources from the Operation Wealth Creation, Youth Livelihood Program and Emyoga.” Reads the statement signed by the interim general secretary Robert Jagwe

The association was formed through a meeting of federation heads held on Thursday, the 10th December 2020 at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo.

It’s through this meeting, vision bearer who also doubles as Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) president Moses Muhangi was elected the interim committee chairperson of the association.
