Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi has taken his social media handles to mourn fallen boxer Bala Geko.

Bala Geko was confirmed dead today afternoon after days of missing.

“We regret to inform you about the death of Bala Geko, 19 years old,” Muhangi.

The boxer (Bala Geko) was confirmed dead today Wednesday afternoon, the 18th October 2023.

His body was found in Mulago city mortuary, having gone missing for days and his phone being off.

The development of the boxer’s death was revealed by Zebra Boxing Club. The club confirmed that he suffered an accident.

It’s however unclear whether it was instant or succumbed from injuries after a while in hospital.

“We regret to inform you about the death of Bala Geko.

We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return. Let’s put the entire family into our Prayers.” Zebra Boxing Club statement.
