Seven awarded at betpawa Futsal Super League inaugural awards

betPawa Uganda in conjunction with Futsal Association of Uganda (FAU) awarded betpbet Futsal Super League best players of  the recently concluded 2023/24 season.

The glamorous ceremony was held at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena on Saturday, the 8th June 2024.

The came after the conclusion of the Futsal Super Cup game between Park FC and Kisenyi FC. Park FC won the tie 7-5.

Michael Abura was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Season while Brian Drileba earned the Golden Glove for being the best goalkeeper in the league. Futsal Super League, has awarded the best players from the 2023/24 season

On the same evening, Brian Drileba scooped the Golden Glove award for being the best goalkeeper in the league.

Brian Olwa was awarded the Youngest Player of the Season, and Marvin Atengeka received the Best Defender of the Season award.

The biggest winner at the awarding ceremony, however, was Michael Lubowa, who scooped both the Best Striker and Playmaker awards.

Lubowa scored 50 goals, breaking Sulaiman Mutyaba’s single-season goal record that had stood for six years.

While addressing the media, betPawa Country Marketing Manager Ivy Igunduura expressed the need to award the excelled players.

“The season has been extremely exciting and with the hard work that all teams put in, success has been collectively achieved.

To make the game more entertaining and professional, we came in to recognize their efforts, inspire and motivate them with these awards,” said betPawa Country Marketing Manager Ivy Igunduura.

Under the betpawa sponsorship, futsal’s main playing venue, the Old Kampala Sports Arena was renovated, giving it a fresh look.

Also, the 12 teams that took part in the league were given a new brand identity through new kits and football gears such as balls and a digital clock.

During the season, a total of UGX 167.5 Million was paid out as Locker Room Bonus through the individual mobile money accounts of the participating players.
