Muhangi Elected Interim President for Ugandan Sports Federations Association.

On Thursday 10th December 2020, Uganda sports federation heads met at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo to forge a way forward that will see them come up with a common voice to help the sports industry tap into the government projects.

 

It’s from this historical meeting attended by over thirty federation heads, the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) president Moses Muhangi who is also the vision bearer was elected the interim president.

The federations believe the sports industry has been left out in all government development programs yet it accommodates a big number of youths in the country.

In their view (federations), feel  it’s time for them to have a common voice that can represent the sports industry Interests.

 

“For the first time ever, sports federation heads have come together for a common cause. I’m humbled to be chairperson of the interim committee and we shall serve to the expectations.” Moses Muhangi speaking to this website after the meeting.

 

“We have been missing that common voice speaking real issues affecting us. We are important actors in the industry and we must be at the front to ensures it grows and betters all the time.” Muhangi.

 

First Issues at Hand

The interim committee will be working on legalizing the association and working on immediate issues.

 

Advocacy for a well designed national sports policy which can ensure equitable funding, sports infrastructure development and turning the industry profitable among other issues are on the fore front.
