Lwesibawa aims high after overcoming injury nightmare

Express FC forward Godfrey Lwesibawa has set his targets after overcoming an injury nightmare.

The 28-year-old has been out of action since 19th September during the 1-0 loss away to Al Merrikh in the CAF Champions League preliminary round with a knee injury.

But he states that he’s unfazed by the layoff and only wants to return to action.

“Knee injuries are troublesome but I am happy all that is now in the past, my aim now is to get back into the team and perform even better than last season individually,” Lwesibawa said.

Lwesibawa added that the derby is a massive game and that the approach is to pick up maximum points.

“We’ve focused on the derby, we respect S.C Villa but we want to keep our momentum because that’s the only way we can keep top of the log,” he noted.

Godfrey Lwesibawa managed five goals and as many assists last season across all competitions.

He also registered a goal in the CECAFA Kagame Cup enroute to Express FC winning it’s first regional title ever.
