Johnathan McKinstry Names Uganda Cranes Provisional Squad for CHAN

Uganda Cranes head coach Johnathan McKinstry has named a provisional team of 28 players for the 2020 Championship of African Nations (CHAN).

The tournament will be hosted by Cameroon in 2021.

The team is expected to enter a residential camp by Sunday, 20th December 2020, except  KCCA players who are traveling to Rwanda for the CAF Confederation Cup against AS Kigali.

The provisional squad has seen forward Muhammad Shaban return to the folds after a long term injury that kept him on sidelines.

Muhamood Hassan, and Uganda U-20 trio of Aziz Kayondo, Ivan Bogere and Bobosi Byaruhanga as well as BUL’s on form forward Joseph Ssemujju are the other unusual figures on the team.

Veteran midfielder Tony Mawejje is also included on the squad.

The official training sessions kick off on Monday, 21st December at a venue yet to be confirmed.
