Gerald Ogweti, Usama Arafat Score as Busiro Book Place in Quarterfinal

Gerard Ogweti (brace) and Arafat Usama (1) scored for Busiro in the final game of Bulange group in a 3-1 victory to book a quarterfinal place of the ongoing Masaza Cup tournament at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

It rained goals in the first 8 minutes of the game as the 2019 semifinalists Busiro lead Buwekula by 2-1 in a sublime start of the game.

Gerald Ogweti scored the quickest goal of the tournament in the opening minute before he sealed the brace only four minutes later in the 5th that restored Busiro’s following Fahad Nsuki’s 3rd minute equalizer. The first stanza ended 2-1 in favor of Busiro.

Busiro poster-boy Arafat Usama quickly made it 3-1 in the 47th minutes after an explicit dribble that left Buwekula goalie Eddy Walusimbi on ground.

The win cemented Busiro’s Bulange group lead with 10 points ahead of second placed Busujju at 7 to progress to the quarterfinal stage.

The two join Butikiro group top two Bulemezi and Mawogola who made grade to the knockout.

Busiro duo Gerald Ogweti and Arafat Usama lead the top scorers’ log both tied on four.
