Uganda U20 Women’s National Team captain Fauzia Najjemba has completed a move to Kazakhstan Women Championship outfit BIIK Kazygurt, according to Kawowo Sports.

The FUFA 2021 Female Player of the Year, signed a two-year deal to join the Kazakh Champions from Kampala Queens where she featured for the last two seasons.

Najjemba becomes the second Ugandan to join the European outfit after Fazila Ikwaput did the same in 2018.

She flew to Kazakhstan on Sunday before she eventually gets started in her new home.

The 18 year old has been a key figure both in Uganda’s Senior and U20 Women’s teams as she helped the former to qualify for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

She was also a pillar as the U20 mounted a dream to qualify for the World Cup before facing elimination at the hands of Ghana via a 7-1 aggregate loss.

She was the top scorer at the 2021 CECAFA U20 Women’s Championship held in Uganda, netting a whopping 11 goals. Uganda finished runners-up to the eventual winner, Ethiopia.

Najjemba was also named the FUFA Female footballer of the year thus attracting interest from several teams across the world.

Before joining Kampala Queens, she had previously featured for Isra Soccer Academy in the FUFA Women Elite League.

BIIK Kazygurt, who changed name from Alma-KTZH, are 14 time league championship winners with their last title coming in 2020.
