Uganda’s boys football representatives at the ongoing CECAFA zonal qualifiers for CAF African Schools Championship Royal Giants, Mityana storm semi-final stage.

The Mityana giants beat ES Sumba of Rwanda 2-0 to reach the semi-final stage with a final group A game to play against Geda Roble S.S of Ethiopia this afternoon.

Enock Bagenda and Julius Ngobi scored the two important goals for Uganda ambassadors.

Royal Giant High School (Boys category) started with a 2-0 win in their in Group A opener against hosts Benjamin Mkapa SS of Tanzania.

Enock Bagenda and Thomas Ogema scored the most important goals for the Mityana giants.

They join Amus College Bukedea who won two group B games to reach the stage with a game to play on Sunday.

Amus College, Bukedea wrote a strong statement to win two games on the opening day to storm semi-final stage

The Video Anyawu coached Amus College outclassed Al Jadida of Sudan 0-3 in their opener.

Asia Kakai, Sharom Nabunya and Joan Namungo scored a goal each as the Eastern Uganda giants present a master class show.

In the second engagement, it was a slim 1-0 victory for Amus College against Djibouti’s CEM Baulous to seal a semi-final slot.

The tournament started on Friday, the 17th February in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Champions in either category will represent the CECAFA Zone at the final tournament in April schedule for 7th to 9th April in Morocco.
