AFCON2021Q: Seven Local Based Players Make Final Cut For S. Sudan Encounter

Seven local based players made the final cut out of the 22 summoned last month as Uganda Cranes getting prepared for South Sudan double header in AFCON 2021 Qualifiers.

Today, Uganda Cranes head coach, Jonathan McKinstry revealed that only seven players from summoned 22 featuring in Uganda Premier League have made it to joined the already selected 20 foreign based players.

Vipers Sports Club youngster, Abdu Karim Watambala, KCCA FC’s custodian, Charles Lukwago, and Shafic Kagimu, Uganda Revenue Authority’s skipper are among the seven selected.

Uganda is to host neighbors, South Sudan on Saturday 12th November 2020 at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende before the return leg four days later in Kenya.

Goalkeepers: Lukwago Charles (KCCA FC)

Defenders: Galiwango Dissan (Vipers SC), Lwaliwa Halid (Vipers SC), Mbowa Patrick ( URA FC)

Midfielders: Kagimu Shafiq (URA FC), Watambala Karim (Vipers SC).

Forwards: Aheebwa Brian (KCCA FC)
