The 13-time Uganda Premier League champions, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club have confirmed the release of custodian Jamil Malyamungu.
The lanky muscular custodian joined the Kasasiro boys in 2017 from relegated Maroons FC but the management at Lugogo saw it that the player had to pave way for the new blood in the team.
“#ThankYou Malyamungu for the memories and three years of service.
#ThankYouMalyamungu #KCCAFCTV
#MoreThanJustAClub” KCCA posted on their official social media platforms late on Saturday, 22nd August 2020.
Malyamungu has been a deputy to club captain Charles Lukwango but the amazing performance displayed by a younger lad Ali Mwerusi towards the end of 2019/20 season and the return of talented Hassan Matovu from long term loan at Proline football Club, tempted tactician Mike Mutebi to erase former Bugerere FC, UPDF FC and Water FC goalkeeper out of his next season plans.
Malyamungu joined custodian Tom Ikara who was also released by the club and joined neighbors, Police FC.
KCCA have so far unveiled Samson Kigozi, Stefano Mazengo Loro, Charles Lwanga Neymar, Ashraf Mugume Fadiga, Denis Iguma and Brian Aheebwa.
