Uganda names 32-man swimming squad for FEASSA Games in Kakamega – Kenya

Uganda’s top swimmers have been summoned to represent the country at the upcoming Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games in Kakamega, Kenya.

The 32-member squad, comprising 17 boys and 15 girls, was selected after a successful National Swimming Gala at Seroma Christian High School in Mukono.

The boys’ team features talented swimmers like Caleb Amelo, Elijah Wamala, Elisha Karuhanga, and Peterson Inhensiko, while the girls’ team includes Angella Busingye, Charlotte Sanford, Blessing Kaitesi, and Hanisha Katana.

Other notable swimmers include;

– Boys: Jordan Crighton, Angello Kagina, Ethan Kalungi, Pendo Kaumi, Akram Lubega, Kyle Lugonjo, Fredrick Luzinda, Carlton Musenze, Grace Mwanguya, Shadrach Mwebaze, Nathan Nsereko, Payton Ssekitto, and Ethani Ssengooba

– Girls: Theresa Kikambi, Paloma Kirabo, Zara Mbanga, Melva Nandugwa, Tyrah Muganzi, Sonia Mwere, Rahmah Nakasule, Paula Nabukeera, Sasha Vimbai, Peyton Suubi, and Crystal Ssemanda.

FEASSA in bound athletes for Uganda

The host school, Seroma Christian High School, emerged as the overall winner of the National Swimming Gala, claiming both the boys’ and girls’ trophies.

In the boys’ category, Seroma scored 411 points, followed by Agha Khan with 371 points and GreenHill with 312 points.

The girls’ category saw Seroma scoring 406 points, with BSK Rafters in second place with 380 points and Agha Khan in third with 323 points.

The 2025 FEASSA Games will take place in Kakamega, Kenya, from August 12th to 23rd, featuring various disciplines, including swimming.

This year’s edition promises to be exciting, with new sports like chess and scrabble making their debut, and lacrosse, beach soccer, cricket, and dance sport featured as demonstration sports.

Uganda is set to defend its title after winning the last edition held in Bukedea, Uganda.

With their strong swimming squad, Uganda’s student athletes aim to make a splash in the competition.
