UPL: Wakiso Giants Enter Into One Year Marriage With Ward Wizard

The Uganda premier league Club, Wakiso Giants entered into one year ‘marriage’ with a Multinational company, Ward Wizard Uganda.

The one year sponsorship deal between the Giants and Ward Wizard is packaged at 200 Million Uganda shillings and the deal was unveiled today at Grand Imperial Hotel Kampala.

According to the Club CEO, Sula Kamoga, Ward Wizard is now the official sponsor of Wakiso Giants for the season 2020/21 of Uganda Premier league that kicked off today.

Club Chairman, Hassan Lule in his remarks revealed as to why they decided to move on with Ward Wizard, though the club had many potential sponsors who tried Wakiso before the latter decided to move on with this brand.

“Wakiso Giants have been reached at by many potential partners before but we have been looking for that sponsor who can add value to our brand.” Hassan Lule said.

The two hundred million are all in cash and the side, Wakiso will be receiving it’s money directly on its account in quarters. That means every after three months, the team shall receive 50 million shillings.

While addressing media, the Managing Director, Sha- revealed to media as to why they chose Wakiso Giants FC, not other clubs.

“We are new newbies on Ugandan market, one year and a half so far, so we wanted someone to boost our brand and after a long search for a Giant in the nation and of course is Wakiso Giants.

Wakiso is a fastest growing sports brand and we went into association with Wakiso to grow together.” Nirav Shah

Ward Wizard, has its base in India, it has other sister companies in Vyom dealing in Electronics and home appliances and then Motorol Lubricants.

Wakiso Giants who start their season tomorrow against Police FC on road at Lugogo, has joined clubs like KCCA FC, Sports Club Villa, Kyetume, Express FC, as clubs with shirt sponsors in Uganda Premier league.
