UPL: Magambo scores twice as KCCA FC slash Kitara

Defender Peter Magambo staged a man of the match performance in KCCA FC’s 4-0 win over Kitara in the Uganda Premier league game played on Saturday, 27th February 2021 at Philp Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The lanky defender, Magambo scored twice plus while Samson Kigozi and Bright Anukani scored the other two for KCCA FC to register a 4-0 win in a completely KCCA FC dominated show.

In the 11th minute, Peter Magambo headed in Filbert Obenchan’s throw in delivery to send KCCA FC in a 1-0 lead which also made the difference in the first stanza.

Shortly after Magambo’s header, Kitara’s Edson Agondeze wasted a would be Kitara equalizer when he put Pius Mbidde’s corner kick delivery wide and wild.

KCCA FC tactician Mike Hillary Mutebi introduced Andrew Kigozi and Charles Lwanga to replace Keziron Kizito and Brian Aheebwa who brought the Kasasiro boys back to life.

The explicit passing and combination from Kigozi, Mugume and Anukani quickly yielded as Kitara goalie Ivan’s error gifted Anukani a goal to double KCCA lead before Magambo completed his brace with the 3rd goal just four minutes later heading in a well delivered Hassan Musana’s corner kick.

In the 61st minute, substitute Andrew Kigozi scored the 4th from a Bright assist to seal a 4-0 win for KCCA FC.

The win moved KCCA FC to 6th position with 17 points, seven below top placed Vipers SC as Kitara remained second from bottom in the 15th place with one point in ten games.
