RIP: Rines SS boss Byamukama laid to rest
Uganda’s educationist, sports administrator and business man Richard Byamukama laid to rest on Saturday 27th March 2021.
The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) family, Masaza Cup fraternity, education sector, the entire sports industry and the business world converged at Lunene village in Mpenja, Gomba to send off Richard Byamukama.
Byamukama was the proprietor and Director of Rines Secondary School. He passed on Thursday 25th March 2021. His death was announced this after a cardiac arrest problem.
Byamukama has been a strong pillar in the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) right from his old days as a teacher and games master in Gombe and Masaka SS where he initiated girls football.
Richard Byamukama will certainly be missed by the sports fraternity. His love for netball, football and athletics has seen Wakiso district/region through the WAKISHA umbrella register commendable success and dominance in secondary schools sports.
He has been the Principal Rines SS and the president Rines Women football club, Vice Chairperson (Technical) WAKISHA sports committee, organizer UMEA netball.
He has served Busiro Ssaza team in the capacity of a chairman since 2017 guiding them to 2019 final where they finished 2nd after a 1-0 loss to Bulemezi before finishing 3rd in the 2020 Masaza Cup edition.
Dignitaries from the education sector, Buganda Kingdom, WAKISHA, FUFA and central government witnessed his send off.
