In their pursuit to strengthen squad ahead of a competitive Uganda Premier League season, Police FC have awarded two-year contract extension to a youngerster, Musa Matovu.

The contract will keep the 20 year old boy at the club until the summer of 2022.

It’s a pleasure having renewed my contract with the club. I learnt a lot from the previous season and can’t wait for the next one.” Matovu said after putting pen on papers.

“I am using this COVID 19 pandemic to work upon myself so as to improve on my performance,” The Aspire Academy Qatar graduate added.

The new club’s Chief Executive Officer, Fahad Lumu revealed that they extending the contracts of their current squad players because as a team, they need to start from somewhere.

We are beefing our team and to consolidate especially the young blood. We can’t start from scratch but somewhere.”

“Our fans should expect a competitive display as the team is comprised of youngsters and experienced players.” Lumu expressed to this website.

According to Club’s media Officer, Bashir Mugah, the activity took place this afternoon at Kibuli Sports Office.

The Former FC Kampala player who didn’t get enough playing time at the Abdallah Mubiru coached side last season, becomes the fourth player to extend his stay, following midfielder, Johnson Odongo, Yusuf Sozzi, and defender, Denis Rukundo.

The club also secured the signatures of goalkeeper, Thomas Ikarah, and experienced midfielder, Tony Mawejje.
