Defender Hassan Mahamood scored three goals as Police FC edge Mbarara City 3-1 at MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo on Wednesday evening.
Police came from behind to win this game as Jude Ssemugabi had scored the opening goal for the Ankole Lions.
Ssemugabi put the visitors in the driving seat in the 26th minute when he tapped in from Henry Kitegenyi.
With three minutes to the first half, Muhamood scored the equaliser for Police when he headed home from a Johnson Odong cross.
At the hour-mark, Muhamood gave police the lead with a header after a rebound from Herman Wasswa’s header which hit the crossbar.
Seven minutes later, Muhamood made it three to seal his hat-trick. A win means that Police is now fourth with 23 points while Mbarara City are 13th with 10 points garnered from 11games played.
