Masaza Cup Defending champions Busiro appoint Ibrahim Kirya as head coach

Masaza Cup Defending champions Busiro have appointed Ibrahim Kirya as head coach

SC. Villa assistant coach Ibrahim Kirya is the new gaffer for reigning Masaza Cup Champions Busiro.

Kirya who was announced today, replaces Simon Peter Mugerwa who joined two time winners Buddu after  guiding Busiro to their maiden Masaza Cup title in 2022.

Mugerwa’s coached side Busiro beat Kirya’s Buddu to win maiden crown by 2-1 in last year’s epic final.

Masud Kafumbe left it late for Busiro to lift the trophy at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

Kirya won Masaza Cup crown with Gomba in 2020 before he was sacked at the end of 2021 edition following a poor run of results.

At Busiro, he will work with Hakim Kasirye, Fred Wasajja and Hamza Ntambi.

The SC. Villa assistant coach has had stints at URA FC, SC Villa, Lweza FC, Wakiso Giants and  Tooro United.

The defending champions were pitted in Muganzirwa group alongside Gomba, Mawokota, Ssese, Mawogola and Kabula.
