Greater Mukono Academies Thankful As UYFA Sensitisation Program Kicks Off

Greater Mukono (Buganda Region one) Academies expressed their gratitude towards Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) for a sensitisation program that highlighted them about the new regulations released by FUFA.
Following the complexity found in the re-registration of football Academies in Uganda basing on new regulations and rules FUFA released in July this year, the youth football governing body embarked on sensitizing their members on how to register and what exactly needed in the new move.
The four-days sensitisation program kicked off on Tuesday, 08th, September 2020, started with Buganda region in four sub-regions Greater Mukono inclusive.
Twenty two members attended the Greater Mukono sensitisation program meeting held at Mukono Resort Hotel and they expressed their gratitude towards the initiative.
“I thank UYFA and FUFA for this workshop, a lot we learnt that we have been missing as Academies and we need to work upon them to become standard Academies.” Coach Shafic Mudholo, Director Naggulu Police Kids Academy said before adding, ” Mr Kigongo taught us how we should run these Academies, how they should be licensed and putting up a system that will help us following our kids, because we have been facing challenge with top clubs that have been taking our kids for free.”
The regulations released by FUFA indicates what to follow while registering the Academies in Uganda and categorized in four classes, from A to D.
And the day’s facilitator and the UYFA delegate Kigongo Farouk explained every step to the participants and was very grateful with the turn up as he asserts;
“We are grateful as UYFA that the turn up has been so good and members have appreciated the concern. We have been sensitizing them on the new regulations brought by FUFA and we want to see that the academies come on board and we work together. I know that if they put if they put whatever has been taught today, Youth football has a bright future.”
The other sub-regions that hosted sensitisation workshops in Buganda region on opening day include; Greater Masaka conducted at Nyendo by Mawa Charles, Entebbe Road at St Padrepio Catholic School Bwebajja by Shafic Kigongo and Mansoor Kabugo, West Buganda at Pride Secondary School Mityana by Abbey Ssentongo.
Day Two, Wednesday 9th, September the program will be extended to Kampala Region and Northern Region.
Northern will have two centers that is Lango at Lira Town College and Acholi at U-Touch Center Gulu.
In Kampala Region, stakeholders will meet at Kenendia Hotel (Makindye, Central and Lubaga) and Mamtaz SS next Kawempe Police Station (Nakawa and Kawempe).
The program that is take part in all the eight regions of FUFA shall come to climax on Friday 11th September 2020.
