Express FC’s winless streak continues with a loss to Soltilo Bright Stars

Uganda Premier League six time champion Express FC’s winless streak continues following a 2-1 loss to Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreation Center in Wakiso on Tuesday 20th April 2021.

Ibrahim Kayiwa’s header which deflected off Simon Ssemayange’s foot into the right corner gave Express a first half lead in the 42nd minute of play.
However, Samuel Ssekamate missed Soltilo Bright Stars’ penalty in the 44th minute following a hand ball in the area.

In the 76th Samuel Ssekamate Kayongo leveled matters for Bright Stars shooting Simon Ssemayange’s cross to ensure a 1-1 score.

Four minutes to the end of the game, South Sudanese international Emmanuel Loki headed in a Ssemayange Simon corner to seal a 2-1 victory for Soltilo Bright Stars.

Express is winless in three consecutive games acquiring only two points from the possible nine. Express drew 0-0 against SC Villa in Bombo, 1-1 against Mbarara City at Wankulukuku and today’s loss to Soltilo Bright Stars this evening.

Express remained 3rd on 37 points after 19 games whilst Soltilo Bright Stars moved to 29 points to settle in the 6th place.

Soltilo Bright Stars will be on road to Ndejje to face URA FC Saturday 24th whilst Express FC will travel to St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on 23rd April.
