CECAFA U20 Women championship: Ayub Khalifah Kiyingi summoned 30 to start preps

The Uganda U20 Women’s national football team head coach, Ayub Khalifah Kiyingi has announced a 30 Woman provisional squad ahead of the forthcoming CECAFA U20 Women championship.

The squad is composed of majority of players that eliminated Kenya in the U20 FIFA Women World Cup qualifiers, the same team that made history by winning the U17 COSAFA championship in Mauritius and CECAFA in 2019.

Uganda will play host to the championship scheduled for 28th October to 8th November 2021 at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

Only six nations are confirmed to take part in this year’s edition following the release of fixtures today.

Uganda’s journey will start against Burundi as Tanzania faces Eritrea and Djibouti will battle Ethiopia in match-day one of five, of a round robin competition.
