Nothing was Left in Rwanda as Uganda's Cubs ran Riot in CECAFA, AFCON Qualifiers

Uganda Cubs decorated FUFA’s cabin with another regional trophy to extend Uganda’s football dominance further.

However, the most stunning memories came on the final day as the Cubs won almost everything there to compete for.

Travis Mutyaba was the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), Oscar Mawa (top goal scorer) and custodian Henry Mwebe walked away with the Golden Glove to supplement the trophy.

The Uganda’s U17 National team “the Cubs” beat neighbours Tanzania 3-1 at the Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu, Rwanda to successfully defend the CECAFA title.

Ivan Irinimbabazi, Ibrahim Juma and Travis Mutyaba’s scored the three important goals for Uganda to lift the trophy unbeaten.

Tanzania’s consolation came through Uganda’s Vicent Mulema’s own goal.

Uganda and Tanzania will represent East Africa in the 2021 AFCON U17 in Morocco set for February to March.

Uganda continues to prove its superiority in the region’s football industry with greater success across different levels.

Currently, Uganda is the FEASSSA football reigning champion as St. Mary’s Kitende beat Buddo in last year’s all Uganda affairs final in Arusha, Tanzania and KCCA FC, holds the CECAFA Kagame Club cup.

Uganda national teams U15, U-20, Uganda Cranes and U17 girls are currently the holders of respective CECAFA championships.
