Uganda’s women’s National football team Crested Cranes labored past a resilient Rwanda’s She Amavubi Stars in a 1-0 second leg tie win of the 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifiers.

Forward Fazila Ikwaput’s extra time 100th minute strike at Kigali Pele Stadium gave Uganda a hard fought win to advance to the 2nd  round on a 4-3 aggregate.

The first leg held at the same Stadium on Wednesday 12th had end in a 3-all thrilling draw.

Ikwaput who came off the bench put a clean finishing to Sandra Nabweteme’s orchestration that left the Rwanda defence disposed off.

Uganda advanced to the next round where they will face Cameroon who got a bye at the previous round.

The two games will be played in October and winner on aggregate will face Nigeria or Ethiopia in the Third Round.
