Forward Cromwell Rwothomio has confirmed his departure from NEC FC shortly after their 1-0 loss to Kitara Football Club in the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup final at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku on Saturday 26th May.

The foward who joined NEC FC from Vipers SC at the beginning of last season confirmed his departure in a statement he released on his social media channels.

“First of all I would like to apologize to you all for failing to achieve my greatest dream (Winning Trophies with NEC FC); this could have been the best reward for all the love and support you the fans and the management of this club showed me and my team mates this season.

“Winning at least a trophy during my stay in this Club was my ultimate goal; we came so closed but lady luck was not on our side today and we failed short to achieve that in today’s match despite the fight. And it was My Last match in the orange and green.

Allow me to bid farewell to all of you.
It has been an amazing journey; A journey filled with self-discovery, love and unforgettable memories.

My fellow team mates, thank you for all the love, support and contribution towards everything we achieved this season as a team and as a player.

To the management of NEC FC, I cannot thank you enough; thank you for offering me the best career guidance and choice to develop as a player. You made me discover my hidden abilities and self.

I will forever hold every one of you dearly to my heart with love. And I will always be there for you in case of need. Been a short period but you made NEC FC feel like a home I never had and for that, I will always consider this club my home.

“Thank you Chairman of the club, team Manager, Coach Hussein, Coach Dudu, the entire technical bench, all the Staffs and fans, thank you and goodbye.”

During his time at NEC FC, Rwothomio made 26 appearances and scored nine league goals.
His next destination is yet to be confirmed.
Head featured for clubs like Paidha Black Angels, URA FC and Vipers SC.
