Women football: Crested Cranes provisional squad for COSAFA released

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has this morning released a provisional squad of 32 players to commence training ahead of the forthcoming COSAFA championship.

The squad named comprises of 4 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 12 midfielders and 7 forwards.

The summoned players will enter camp on 10th September 2021 at a hotel yet to be communicated.

The 2021 COSAFA Women’s Championship will kick off 28th September – 9th October at Port Elizabeth in South Africa.

The tournament is to be used as a preparation platform for the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) Qualifiers where the Crested Cranes will face Ethiopia at the first round phase.

In the same development, George Lutalo has been named the team’s head coach, replacing Farida Bulega who has been in charge of the team for a couple of years.
