After outclassing Eswatini 85-34 on Thursday afternoon, Uganda’s She Cranes have learned their semifinals opponents in the 2024 Africa Netball Cup. Uganda topped Pool B to reach the semifinals.

There was a possibility of Uganda facing rivals South Africa in the semifinals if Zimbabwe had beaten hosts Namibia.

However, Namibia pulled off a shocking 42-41 win over Zimbabwe, leaving the latter to finish second behind Uganda.

As a result, Uganda will face Malawi in the semifinals. South Africa, who topped their pool, will take on Zimbabwe, who finished second in Uganda’s pool.

The semifinals will take place on Friday, with the South Africa vs. Zimbabwe game kicking off first, followed by Uganda’s match against Malawi.

The winners of these semifinal matches will advance to the final on Saturday to determine the champion.

There’s a strong possibility of Africa’s number one, South Africa, facing Uganda in the final, but both teams must first overcome their semifinal opponents.

Uganda’s She Cranes have won the championship three times, with their last title coming in 2018.
