
Ugandan schools sweep FEASSA Netball semi-finals slots
Four Ugandan schools have qualified for the semi-finals of the 22nd Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Netball tournament in Kenya, showcasing the country’s dominance in the sport.
National netball champions Buddo SS have maintained their perfect record, winning all six games in the group stages, including a thrilling 46-43 victory over St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana.
They will face newbies Hamdan Islamic SS in the semi-finals.
The debutants have impressed everyone with their narrow 43-42 win against Kenyan champions Oyugi Ongango Girls, securing their spot in the semi-finals.
The defending champions will look to retain their title and face off against long-time rivals St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana in the other semi-final match.
St. Mary’s Kitende has a storied history in the FEASSA Netball tournament, having won 19 titles in the last 21 editions.
St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, the 2018 champions advanced to the semi-finals as Group B runners-up, losing only one of their six group games.
The semi-final matches will be played on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Masinde Muliro University in Kakamega, Kenya
St. Mary’s Kitende’s dominance in the tournament is evident, with only two other schools, Gombe SS (2002) and St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana (2018), managing to break their dominance and claim the title.
