Stanbic Uganda Cup: Gadaffi, Maroons FC are first UPL sides to exit at this edition’s round of 64

Maroons FC and Gaddafi FC became the first two Uganda Premier League side to be eliminated at the round of 64 of the 49th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Maroons FC lost 2-1 to Kampala Regional League side Kisugu United.

Rodgers Tabule and Bob Matovu scored for Kisugu United, Maroons FC’s only goal in the game was an own goal.

Gaddafi FC lost to Buganda Regional League side Kiyinda Boys 1-0 at Ssaza grounds in Mityana thanks to Joseph Sewali for the late winner in the late minute of the game.

Hussein Mbalangu’s Blacks Power progressed to the round of 32 after a slim 1-0 victory against Bukedea Central Football Club.

Dickens Okwir was the goal scorer for Blacks Power Football Club.

FUFA Big League side Kataka FC lost 2-0 to Gorrilla Highland at Mashaka play ground in Kisoro.

Kiyinda Boys, Kisugu United, Blacks Power and Gorrilla Highland join SC Villa, Police FC, Kitara FC, Vipers SC, Jinja North United, BUL, Pajule Lions FC, Blue Star FC, Admin FC, Junior Eagles FC, Ndejje University who earlier advanced to round of 32.

BUL FC are the defending champions.

The winner of the Uganda Cup represents Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup.
