Soltilo Bright Stars gigantic forward Samuel Ssekamate Kayongo and tactician Baker Mbowa win April Pilsner player and coach of the month awards.

In the players’ category, Police FC’s Ben Ocen and Soltilo Bright Stars’s Ssekamate Samuel stood taller in the month of April.

Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte scored six goals in the league in six games. The gigantic forward hit a brace in the Stars’ 3-1 win against Kitara. He scored, a goal when Bright Stars beat Wakiso Giants (3-2), MYDA (3-0), Express (3-2) and KCCA FC (2-0) respectively.

He enabled Bright Stars win six of their eight games played in April across all competitions.

Ssekamate beat Police’s lanky forward Ben Ocen whose six goals from eight games across all competitions weren’t enough to over weigh his counterpart.

Five of the goals came from the six league games while one from Stanbic Uganda Cup. He was on the score sheet as Police beat Kyetume 3-0 while he notched a brace in Police’s 4-1 and 6-1 wins over Kitara and MYDA respectively.

He (Ocen) scored when Police defeated FUFA Big League side Calvary 5-0 in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32.

Another Soltilo star, tactician Baker Mbowa is beat the out spoken Vipers SC’s gaffer Fred Kajoba for the coach of the month.

Mbowa’s coached Soltilo Bright Stars won five out of the six and drew only against table leaders URA FC in the month, collecting 16 out of the possible of the possible 18 points.

Vipers SC’s Kajoba drew goalless against Wakiso Giants before he suffered a 1-0 defeat against Express FC both at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Vipers SC managed 13 out of the possible 18 points in six games and this gives Kajoba a disadvantage to retain the accolade he won in March.
