Two African bookends Peace Proscovia (Uganda) Phumza Maweni (South Africa) have parted ways with Sunshine Cost Lighting netball club after three years.

The duo’s departure was announced through the club’s digital communication channels and it’s confirmed Lighting is preparing life without the two.

“Last night it was officially announced Peace Proscovia and Phumza Maweni will part ways with Sunshine Cost Lightning for the 2022 season”. Reads the statement.

The Sunshine Cost Lighting extended the experienced African bookends contracts for one year on 19th October 2020 ahead of their 2021 season and after expiry, efforts for extension have not yield.

Uganda’s finest Peace Proscovia joined the professional Netball fraternity in 2015 when she joined Loughborough after an impressive show at the 2015 Netball World Cup held in Sydney, Australia from 7th to 16th August.

She however, departed after four seasons in 2019 to join Sunshine Cost Lighting.

Until now, the duo’s next destination is uncertain.
