Mmamba, Butiko to face off in the 50th Bika football and Netball openers

Buganda Mister for Youth, Sports and Arts Ssalongo Robert Sserwanga has today 25th March 2024 confirmed Bika Netball and football competition opener will be between Mmamba Gabunga and Butiko.

The 50th edition of Bika  Football and Netball tournaments will officially throw and kick off on the 20th and 27th  of April respectively.

The development was confirmed in a press conference held in the Cabinet room at Bulange Mengo in the afternoon.

“This year’s Bika Netball edition shall throw off on 20th  of April with Mmamba Gabunga and Butiko facing off.

A week later the same clans will play the football opener on 27th-April as netball climaxes on the same day”. Minister Ssalongo Robert Sserwanga.

“For the first time, we are to have a fundraising dinner for this edition on 12th April at Hotel Africana where an individual will pay UGX. 300000, companies YGX. 10,000,000 and 3,000,000 for each clan”. He added.

“As we aim at changing and regain the glory days of this competition, the fundraising will give us the financial muscle to execute to our full potential”. Minister.

The Bika Football and Netball committee chairman Hajji Sulaiman Magala, Nkerebwe clan head Omutaka Dr. Grace Kizito Bakyayita and other committee members graced the event.

Ngeye are netball champions whilst Ngonge won the 49th football edition.
