FWSL: Ikwaput’s brace seals stunning comeback over UCU Lady Cardinals
In the third day of Group B games in Fufa Women Super League, Lady Doves won the maximum points against overrated UCU Lady Cardinals.
The game was at balance in terms of creating chances till to the 20th minutes when flamboyant talent Hasifah Nassuna converted the penalty to put her side in the lead.
Before the end of half time, UCU Lady Cardinals defenders failed to protect the goalkeeper and Fazila Ikwaput sneaked and beaten the goalkeeper to put the ball at the back of the net to level matters.
The first stanza ended in the level. The second half resumed and Doves looked determined.
In the 75th minutes Fazila Ikwaput scored her seventh goal of the season as she put her side in the lead.
Referee Anna Akoyi blowned the final whistle as Lady Doves took all the three points.
Today’s win for Lady Doves kept them at the top of the log in Group B to keep their chances of making it to Semifinals high.
