FSL: Mengo City, Big Talent share spoils

Mengo City Futsal Club have maintained the top position of the 2021 Futsal Super league table after a thrilling 2-2 draw against the second placed Big Talent Futsal Club held on Saturday 15th May 2021 at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Second half substitute Ronald Kaye’s heroic moment who replaced Akram Katende at the beginning of the second stanza hit the back of the net through a well calculated sole to resurrect Big Talent for a point.

Big Talent gained an early 1-0 lead through Farouk Tumyesigye just four minutes into the game.

In the 13th minute, Lamech Mwebaza conveted a penalty to level matters at 1-1 after Big Talent’s Akram Katende handed the ball in the forbidden area.
Ronald Kaye equalized in the final minute of the game to earn a vital point for Big Talent.

Both teams have now played three games, winning their first two consecutive fixtures and a draw this weekend.

Mengo Futsal Club lead the table with seven (7) points in three games. They have scored 13 goals, conceding only six, thus having a positive seven (+7) goal difference advantage putting them atop Albert Nile Group ahead of Big Talent.

The free scoring Big Talent Futsal Club have also amassed seven points from the three games played, scoring 16 goals and conceding 11, thus having a positive five (+5) goal difference, only two goals behind Mengo Futsal Club.

Big Talent Futsal Club’s Faizal Wabyoona and his young brother Farouk Tumyesigye are joint top scorers with six goals this season.
