URA FC’s chances of making it to the group stages of CAF Confederation Cup received a huge blow after being held to a goalless draw by Al Masry at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Saturday.

URA FC started the game without 13 of their players and officials who tested COVID-19 positive after results returned today.

Al Masry would have taken the lead by the 13th minute had their penalty kick by Amr Ramadan Mousa missed. The visitors were awarded a penalty following a foul Iwuji by defender Fesali Najib.

Mousa’s resultant shot hit the lower bottom post and the rebound by Eze Emeka was way over the goal.

In the 15th minute, Al Masry’s Amir Ramadan Mousa hit post as URA FC survived the scare.

On half an hour mark, Najib Fesali’s header off a Saidi Kyeyune corner kick hit the goal post for the visitors to survive.

In the 55th minute, Saidi Kyeyune tried his luck from long range but his shot went wide before Davis Ssali shot just inches wide ten minutes later.

In the 90th minute, Kyeyune’s freekick was brushed out by Ali Hussein for URA’s corner kick.

The two sides will face off again in the return leg on October 24TH at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria Egypt with URA FC targeting a win if they are to make it to the the next round of the competition.
