A Classic Lecture: Buddo SS outclass St. Mary’s Kitende to win U14 Wakiso football title

In a thrilling display of football prowess, Buddo SS outclassed St. Mary’s Kitende 2-0 in the U14 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Ball Games II boys football qualifiers for Wakiso District. The match, played on a cold and cloudy evening, showcased Buddo SS’s mastery of possession and passing skills.

Nicholas Kawooya and Richard Carrick Sserubiri scored the decisive goals in the first half, guiding Buddo SS to Wakiso District glory in a round Robin format tournament decisive tie.

Earlier, Buddo SS had secured a 6-0 win over God’s Way High School, with Sserubiri scoring a brace and Willy Lakot, Swabur Bomba, Owen Mukisa, and Nicholas Kawooya adding to the tally.

St. Mary’s Kitende, meanwhile, registered a 4-0 win over God’s Way High School, courtesy of Livingston Kulata’s brace and goals from Akram Ssenyonga and Frank Musisi.

All three teams, Buddo SS, St. Mary’s Kitende, and God’s Way, have qualified for the National Ball Games II, scheduled for July 9th-19th in Tororo.

In other events, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana won the girls’ football trophy without playing a match.

AirForce Secondary School-Entebbe won the boys’ athletics trophy, while Standard High School-Zzana took the girls’ title.

AirForce emerged as the overall athletics winner with 370 points compared to Standard High School-Zzana’s 285 in the second place.

In other competitions, Sacred Heart Wamilongo won both Ludo trophies without tossing a dice, Wampeewo Ntake claimed the boys’ and girls’ Chess titles, and St. Mary’s College-Kisubi won both boys’ and girls’ Scrabble titles.
