FEASSSA GAMES: We are mentally, physically ready for any opponent – Seroma Captain Naume Akareut

Debutantes Seroma Christian High School, Mukono vows to upset the tournament giants win their ever first Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games medals at their maiden appearance in baseball (3X3 boys) and volleyball girls.

The Mukono based side presented two teams at this year’s edition set for 17th to 28th August 2023 in the Southern City of Huye, in Rwanda.

Speaking to this website, the girls volleyball team captain Akareut Naume expressed readiness ahead of the awaited serve-off.

“We have gone through vigorous training which has physically and mentally prepared us to face any opponent.

Our target here is a podium finish. As our motto “Heads but not tails”, we are here to effectively compete and fearless to face any opponent”.

Naume further added that, “We came as Seroma, most importantly, we carried a Ugandan flag in the black, yellow and red colors.

It’s our prime responsibility to raise and defend the beautiful colors”. Captain Saidi Habibu Marowa.

Seroma featured at the schools National volleyball championship in Kabale. They were knockout at the Semi-final stage by Ngora High School in a massive 3-0 win.

However, they are Mukono region reigning champions have finished the round Robbin tournament unbeaten.

They won 3-0 against Amazima Secondary School, Mbikko in Njeru Municipality.

Meanwhile, the school’s basketball team will be in contention too for glory.

The Mukono region reigning champions finished 5th at the USSSA National Championships in Kabale. They beat Metha SS in the Mukono region final.

 

They lost they lost to Mbogo Mixed by 21-14 in the quarter-final before beating Kibuli 14-13 to a fifth (5th) place finish.

“Our target here is winning the trophy. With the come back of different members to the squad, my confidence for sublime performance is high.

The sacrifice from our administration both financially and materially keeps moving and motivated every day.

Having finished 5th at the National Championship, they replaced Bethel High School who dropped out due to financial constraints.
