CCL: CAF appoints referees for Simba, Vipers SC clash
Top Ethiopian referee Bamlak Tessema Weyesa has been appointed by CAF to take charge of CAF champions league tie between Tanzanian giants Simba SC and Vipers sc on Tuesday.
Uganda premier league reigning champions Vipers SC will face Simba SC at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The center referee (Bamlak), whose last CAF champions league assignment was between Africa’s big wigs Al Ahly and Mamelodi in Cairo last week will be assisted by his Samuel Tango and Belay Tadesse all from Ethiopia as the first and second assistant respectively.
The fourth official is Tigle Gizaw from Ethiopia.
Vipers SC suffered a home 1-0 defeat to Tanzania’s Simba in the Caf Champions League at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende under floodlights a week ago.
Baka Inonga Henock scored a first half goal for the visit to smile home with vital three points.
The Venoms who sit at the bottom of the Group C table with one point in three games went to Tanzania without some players including ankle injured Murushid Juuko.
Captain Milton Karisa, Bright Anukani, Dissan Galiwango and Marvin Youngman are the regular faces to miss the Tuesday tie.
The Venoms who currently sit at the bottom in group C with a point will also be without defender Disan Galiwango and Marvin Youngman who were dropped.
Raja Casablanca occupies the top of the group with nine (9) points, Horoya AC second on four (4) and Simba third (3rd ).
